The Xiaomi ancillary, Redmi, has finally revealed its big-time flagship smartphone- the K40 series yesterday in their China-exclusive launch event. After an everlasting period of time, an eternity later (I must say), the cat is finally out of the bag. And it’s a big cat. The series includes three chapters: The vanilla K40, the premium K40 Pro, and the more premium K40 Pro+ smartphones.

Overview

The entire K40 series trademarks the Samsung E4 AMOLED display, escorted by a feather smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Each of these phones boasts a 4,520mAh battery, a 33W fast charging, Dolby Stereo Speakers, UFS 3.1 storage, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor in each.

The main elements that wrangle each phone from the other are the processor and camera features. While both the pro variants wear the bleeding edge Snapdragon 888 processor, the Redmi K40 adapts to a Snapdragon 870 chipset. Similarly, all the phones come equipped with the same auxiliary cameras, viz. an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP telemacro lens. But, K40 Pro+ crowns the tag with its 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor, while K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ feature 64MP and 48MP Sony IMX sensors in them.

The Redmi K40 series is available for preorder through Xiaomi’s official website. The Redmi K40 and K40 Pro will be available for purchase from March 4, and the K40 Pro+ will be available by the end of March.

The phones are still not globally announced yet. They are available only in Mainland China at the moment.
