Veilings have been raised, and the Chinese tech giant has finally let the lid off their highly prophesied Mi 11 series, vis-à-vis the latest protraction of Xiaomi’s premium Mi-lineup. The series overbrims three main chapters, i.e. Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11i and Mi 11 Lite (5G and non-5G).
To note, this is Xiaomi’s 11th milestone in the journey. And safe to say, the company has produced a crown jewel for their briefcase collection this time, featuring the highly consummate Mi 11 Ultra as one.
Being complimented by the equally quintessential camera sensors and seemingly permissible price braces it comes in, is Mi 11 Ultra the big flagship we did not presume and/or expected?
Highlights
As we all know, Mi 10 Ultra was quite a remarkable contender in camera-battles last year. Thence continuing the legacy, Xiaomi, this time smashes the smartphone camera section with its profoundly elite camera hardware. Mi 11 Ultra features the first-ever debut of Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2 sensor- the largest smartphone camera sensor (at the moment). Developed jointly by Samsung and Xiaomi, the GN2 sensor can widen up to 1/1.12″ in aperture-size and produce 4-in-1 2.8μm Super Pixels. The camera array is further cherished by a 48MP periscope lens (5x zoom) and another 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

And what’s quite making the buzz about Mi 11 Ultra is the camera module in itself- I mean, the protrusion. Extending along the phone’s width, the design of the phone looks quite peculiar, to be honest. However, the wreath is not the protrusion itself but what it holds inside- a secondary display. Yes, Mi 11 Ultra also bouquets a 1.1″ AMOLED display inside the camera bump. Xiaomi has remarked it as a utility for displaying several notifications and alerts like time, phone calls and a screen to take rear-facing selfies.
