Poco F2 Pro is all set for Global Launch on 12th May 2020

Poco took a long break after launching the legendary Pocophone F1 or Poco F1. Poco F1 brought back the concept of “Flagship Killer” and in a great way. It was one of the best budget phones in 2018. Yeah it’s almost been 2 years since the launch of Poco F1. So after a long break Poco is all set to launch its new phone called the Poco F2 Pro on 12th May 2020.

Poco F2 pro will be a successor to the legendary Poco F1 and one can hope that it too will be a “Flagship Killer”. There will be a lot of expectation from Poco to deliver a great phone at a great price because of the image that company has created itself with the launch of Poco F1.

Poco F2 Pro Specifications

Rumours suggest that Poco F2 Pro will be a re-branded Redmi K30 Pro which was launched in China a couple of weeks ago. If this turns out to be true, the Poco F2 Pro will be a solid phone (at least on paper). Here are the specifications that it offers –

Poco f2 pro is supposed to be a flagship killer. Which means that it offers flagship level specifications at the fraction of a price. Under the hood, Poco F2 Pro will come with a Snapdragon 865 Processor, which is the best that Qualcomm has to offer for this year. On the GPU side of things, the Poco F2 Pro is supposed to have an Adreno 650 GPU which is expected to give 25% more graphics performance. This means that the F2 Pro is going to be a solid phone for all you gamers out there. The phone will come with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of internal storage. To power all this awesome hardware, there’s a 4700mAh Battery with support for 33W Fast Charging.

Poco F2 Pro Display & Design

Poco F2 Pro is supposed to have a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It doesn’t seem to have any hole-punch cut out nor does it have a notch. The front camera is hidden behind the display and can be used with a Pop-Up Camera mechanism. As far as the design goes, F2 Pro will come with an all glass design which looks pretty unique. The phone is supposed to come in four colour options – Moonlight White, Sky Blue, Purple, and Space Grey.

Poco F2 Pro Camera

The Poco F2 Pro will come with a quad-camera setup on the rear, with a dual-LED flash. The primary camera is the 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor. It is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide angle sensor with a 123-degree Field of View. Apart from that there’s a 5MP Macro camera and a 2MP Depth sensor for portrait shots.

On the front side of things, there will be a 20MP Pop-Up Selfie Camera.

What about Poco F2 and India?

Poco F2 Pro’s launch will be a global launch on 12th May 2020. Whether or not this phone will come to India is still a mystery. The Redmi K30 Pro might come to India as the Redmi K30 Pro itself. So what does this mean? No Poco F2 for India? Well, there will be a Poco F2 which will be launched in India.

Poco F2 (non-pro) is supposed to be a budget flagship device (basically a flagship killer) which will come with a Snapdragon 855+ processor instead of a 865 to save price and pass on the benefits to consumers. This is going to be an excellent move by the Poco Team. Poco F2 is supposed to be price around the 25,000 Rs mark which is excellent pricing for a Snapdragon 855+ phone.

So yeah, there’s a lot in store for the Indian market. Along with the F2 poco is also planning to launch the Poco M2 Pro which will be a budget phone. Poco M2 Pro is supposed to be a re-branded Redmi Note 9 (which was launched globally few days back). It might seem confusing at first but here’s what’s gonna happen –

1. Poco F2 will be launched with a Snapdragon 855+ Processor at a price of about 25,000 INR
2. Poco M2 Pro will be a re-branded Redmi Note 9 and will be launched at a price of Sub 15,000 INR
