OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro all set to launch on 14th April 2020

OnePlus is finally ready to launch the all new OnePlus 8 series on 14th April 2020 in Bengaluru. Earlier today Pete Lau, founder & CEO of OnePlus tweeted that the launch of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro won’t be pushed any further, since it has already been pushed a couple of times.

Anyway, soon after the statement from Pete, the official launch date for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro was revealed i.e. 14th April 2020. OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have been leaked a lot to the point where we almost know every single thing about these phones before the launch. The only thing which is unknown at this point is the price.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro Specifications

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro seem to be pretty solid phones at least on paper. Here are the leaked specifications for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro by famous leakster, Mr. Ishan Agarwal

OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications

First up let’s talk about the OnePlus 8 Pro. Snapdragon 865 Processor with 5G, 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 Storage. The display seems to be an upgrade over OnePlus 7T Pro. It is now going to be a 6.78″ QHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED Display. I am really excited for the 120Hz AMOLED Display.

As far as the cameras go, there seems to be a Quad-Camera setup on the rear side. 48MP Primary, 48MP Ultra-Wide, 8MP Telephoto and a 5MP Depth Sensor. One the front side of things, there’s gonna be a 16MP Camera.

The battery seems to be a 4510mAh battery with 30W Fast Charging, 30W Wireless Charging and 3W Reverse Wireless Charging too. So finally OnePlus is going to introduce wireless and reverse wireless charging in their devices.

The phone is also supposed to be IP68 Water Resistant which is a welcome upgrade.

On paper the OnePlus 8 Pro seems like a full fledged flagship device and honestly it is going to be expensive. I am expecting it to come at a starting price of about ₹58,000 to ₹60,000 (USD 849)

OnePlus 8 Specifications

So the OnePlus 8 seems to be a pretty solid upgrade over the OnePlus 7T. Snapdragon 865 Processor with 5G, 8GB or 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.0 Storage. OnePlus is sticking to the higher refresh rate display which is excellent. The OnePlus 8 is supposed to come with a 6.55″ FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED Display.

As far as the cameras go, OnePlus is not going the 64MP route. They seem to be sticking with a 48MP Primary camera with a 16MP Ultra Wide Camera and a 2MP Macro sensor. The selfie camera would be a 16MP shooter.

As far as the batter goes, OnePlus is gonna come with a 4300mAh Battery with 30W Warp Charge 30T which basically means 30W Fast charging.

OnePlus 8 won’t be getting wireless charging or an IP Rating as this device is going to be more budget friendly. It is still going to cost a lot more than OnePlus 7T because of the Snapdragon 865 Processor. Snapdragon 865 is an expensive processor.

I am guessing the OnePlus 8 price to be around ₹42,000 to ₹45,000 (USD 599).
